Abstract

Smartphones are something that is familiar to humans and is part of the needs of modern humans, this is due to the ease of accessing information and communicating with this device. This is also supported by its concise nature so that high human mobility is maintained while using it. now to get a smartphone is no longer a difficult dream because there are various choices at relatively low prices. It's just that sometimes there are still confused in determining smartphone due to the varied choices. There is a method called Simple Additive Weighting which is one of the decision support systems. In this study the method will be applied by building an Android-based decision support system. Android-based decision support systems will be designed with the help of Unified Modeling Language modeling techniques for the flow of information systems and Android Studio 3.1.2 as application creation software and handling databases will use MySQL. This research resulted in an Android-based smartphone recommendation application as a suggestion for determining the choice of a smartphone. The basic purpose of this application is to try to give suggestions of choice by giving several ratings to the smartphone. The rating is derived from an objective assessment in a systematic calculation based on the specified criteria. The smartphone recommendation application that has been designed can provide the best choice advice through rating the smartphone with the Simple Additive Weighting method.
