Abstract

In the modern era, home security has become a critical concern, particularly regarding gate access control, which is still often performed manually. This manual approach increases the risk of human error, such as unintentionally leaving the gate open, leading to reduced efficiency and heightened security vulnerabilities. This research aims to design and develop an automated gate control system based on the NodeMCU ESP32 microcontroller, operable via an Android application and a fingerprint sensor. A descriptive method was employed, using a literature review as the basis for system and application design. The resulting system enables users to automatically open and close the gate, monitor its status in real-time, manage user access rights, and receive alerts through notifications and a buzzer when the gate remains open beyond a specified time limit. Test results indicate that the system operates effectively, offering a secure, efficient, and practical solution for remotely managing home gate access.
