PENERAPAN SISTEM APLIKASI KAMUS BAHASA INDONESIA BAHASA DAWAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE PENCARIAN SEQUENTIAL BERBASIS ANDROID

Abstract

Dawan language is one of the regional languages of East Nusa Tengara (NTT). Learning Dawan language conventionally through direct conversation with the interlocutor will take a long time because it must be practiced continuously. Learning Dawan using a physical dictionary is also difficult because the process of searching dictionary words in the form of books can take a long time because of the manual search process. So it is necessary to create an application, one of which is a digital dictionary application with the support of audio pronunciation of words in Dawan language that can make it easier to search for words and do not need to spend additional costs to buy dictionaries. Researchers use data collection methods with interviews, and library studies. The analysis technique used is Unified Modeling Language (UML) in modeling the system. In database design researchers use MySQL, and Android Studio as an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) to design applications. This research resulted in the application of dictionary language Indonesian language - Dawan language using Sequential Search method based on Android. This app has the feature to translate words from Indonesian language - Dawan language or vice versa. In addition, the app also provides audio features of pronunciation of words in Dawan language.  The application also provides a special login menu for admins to process the word and there is an about menu containing the biodata of the application creator. From the whole research process, it can be concluded that with the application of the dictionary Indonesian language - Dawan language, it is expected to overcome and minimize the problems that occur during the learning process of Dawan language. In addition, it is still necessary to add vocabulary in the dictionary and Need to be equipped with voice translate feature to make it easier to search for words by entering what words to search to the device by speaking.
