Abstract

House is one of the buildings used as a place to live for a certain period of time. Inside the house there are various furniture and valuable objects. Over time people need to secure homes from unauthorized people. Currently there are many unauthorized people who try to enter other people's homes without permission from the owner of the house. Therefore this study aims to design a home security system that uses an Arduino microcontroller in synergy with a desktop application that functions to run a webcam and an Arduino application that functions to receive notifications when the sensor detects an object. So that it can optimize the security of the house when the house is left empty. The author uses descriptive research design as a research design. Data collection techniques used are literature study methods which include scientific books, scientific journals, and sources published in various media. The system analysis technique used is object-oriented techniques with modeling Unified Modeling Language (UML). The application design technique used is desktop programming with the Arduino IDE and Visual Studio 2010 and mobile programming with Android Studio and Firebase to manage the application database. The results achieved are a home security system that helps homeowners monitor and receive notifications when the sensor detects someone trying to enter the house without permission from the owner with the notification feature via the android application and the webcam capture stored directly on the google drive. The author suggests that the home security system managed can be used by the community.   Keywords: Arduino, Android, Security, Home
