Abstract

Incubators are important tools in the egg-hatching process; however, most of the conventional models require farmers to manually monitor temperature and humidity and reposition eggs. This research aims to develop an IoT-based automatic incubator system that can be monitored in real-time through an Android application. The system incorporates an automatic egg turner, monitors temperature, humidity, and motion, and visualizes the incubator’s internal conditions using the ESP32-CAM module. The system is also capable of transmitting sensor data to the Firebase Realtime Database and issuing real-time notifications if the temperature, humidity, or motion parameters surpass the defined limits. The system can operate in automatic and manual modes and is even capable of operating offline by switching to automatic mode if there is no internet connection. Implementing IoT technology in incubators is expected to increase the efficiency of the incubation process of chicken eggs and make it easier for farmers to monitor. Test results indicate that the system functions reliably, successfully monitors temperature and humidity in real time via the Android application, repositions the eggs according to schedule, and transmits images of the incubator’s internal conditions. The implementation of IoT technology in this incubator has proven effective in increasing the efficiency of the chicken egg-hatching process and making it easier for farmers to monitor remotely via smartphone devices.
