Abstract

Choosing a smartphone has become increasingly challenging due to the rapid growth of technology. Various brands and models with diverse features make it difficult for users to determine the right choice according to their needs. Therefore, this research aims to design a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) to assist users in selecting smartphones using the Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique (SMART) method. The data collection methods employed by the author include interviews and literature reviews. The system is designed and analyzed using Unified Modeling Language (UML). Database design utilizes MySQL, while the web application development uses Visual Studio Code with HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and Bootstrap as the CSS framework. This research produces a web-based decision support system for smartphone selection using the SMART method. The calculation values are based on the criteria weights determined by the users. The SMART method is chosen because it can address the complexity of smartphone selection by considering several important attributes such as price, RAM, camera, battery, and screen. The conclusion of this research is that the decision support system for smartphone selection can help users make decisions quickly and easily. This system is designed to enable users to make more accurate and efficient choices in selecting a smartphone. The author's recommendation is that this system be used as a recommendation tool for smartphone selection based on SMART calculations.
