ANALISIS PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT KOTA PONTIANAK TENTANG KEBERADAAN DAN PERANAN CREDIT UNION DI KOTA PONTIANAK

Abstract

Nowadays many people of West Kalimantan choose to save their money in Credit Unions
(CU). The basic reason for choosing CU is because they can get much information on financial
management and profit from CU’s program. The goal of this research is to find out the
perception of the people in Pontianak about the role and benefit they can get from CU and
banking system. This qualitative-descriptive analysis applies an accidental sampling with 10
samples of each of nine Credit Unions in Pontianak based on BKCU Kalimantan’s database.
The data of this study was collected by interviews, questionnaires, and bibliography study.
The result of this study is that most of Pontianak people prefer to choose CU because of its
advantageous aspects, such as the flexibility of credit system.
