Abstract

Intense competition among universities has encouraged universities to provide the best possible services, including the provision of information for those who need the information. The globalization of the education sector requires universities to be able to manage information well, so that the information needs of every part can be met quickly and accurately. Widya Dharma University Pontianak as one of the universities that participated in competition in the education sector seeks to improve services to its students by implementing the use of computerized based academic information systems. The academic information system currently used by the Widya Dharma University in the Faculty of Information Technology in Pontianak still lacks, especially in the part of the registration of study plans and access to study results. Problems include the existence of inaccurate information when students make study plan registration and redundancy when accessing study results. The author conducted a descriptive research design, and data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and literature study. The author uses UML modeling as a data analysis technique. The results of this study are computerized systems that provide easy access to study results and study plan registration because all are synchronized in a single system and database so there is no redundant data. Advice that can be given is to back up data regularly to prevent data damage and loss of data. Keywords ̶ ̶ Information System, Computerization, Academic Information System
