Abstract

Toy car is a device which often used as an alternative game played by children, teenagers,even adults, and generally controlled by a device which more commonly referred as remote control. This remote control utilizes the sensor's usage for Android Operating System based smartphone, which communicates and integrates smartphone with the microcontroller, and uses wireless as data transfer medium. This research produces a toy car device using the Arduino Uno R3 board and a remote which uses an accelerometer sensor in an Android Operating System based smartphone wirelessly.Based on the analysis results, the writer concludes that after the hardware and software design it is possible to control
a toy car by using the Android Operating System based smartphone in a wireless circumstances with a maximum amount of distance equal to 50 meters. For further development of this research, the writer suggest to repair the development's scope such as the increase the amount of cameras used, ultrasonic sensor,and sound sensor utilization, changes on the toy car's dimension into a more lighter and smaller toycar, and increase the user interface design.
